-Marylinne Robinson is coming to Baylor in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to going.
Looking forward to hearing about this!
-Barbra Duguid is coming to our church the week after that for a weekend conference. Her book Extravagant Grace really helped me a lot last year.
Cool. I've been reading through her book, too, and it's really good stuff. Barb and her husband Iain, who taught at Westminster Seminary while Uri was a student, were hugely influential in our lives - personally, spiritually - during our California years. Iain started a church plant our first year there - Iain's a phenomenal preacher and biblical exegete - and the Duguids welcomed us in as a part of it. They were kind enough to say we were "helping," but really, we just spent a lot of time at their house - they're so hospitable. Barb's just as down to earth and real in person as she sounds in her book - and in retrospect, I think it was she and Iain who helped me - Uri, too - understand grace for the first time. You can know something, but not really
know something. You know?
Anyway, I'd love, if you get a chance, to hear how the conference goes.
