Spent a few hundred bucks to buy some PC parts to assemble a new desktop machine. My old desktop died a year or two back, I didn't have time to fix it and it was badly aging at that point anyways (Core2Duo era iirc). So I've been using my 10 year old laptop every since. Still runs pretty good to be honest. I can't believe it's not dead yet. Even the battery is still good for 90 minutes.
Anyways. I've spent the last couple days assembling the new machine, and updating it, and tweaking windows 10 to not suck, and getting everything set up just the way I like it. Drivers, software, blah blah blah. It's such a good feeling.
My friend gave me a very high end (for it's day) video card that he isn't using any more. You'd spend $350+ on an equivalent card to match the performance so I'm happy to have it. It'll let me get back to PC gaming which I haven't done in too damn long. All I want to do is play Team Fortress again.
Here's the other parts I used for anyone nerdy enough to care. Not the worlds most high end machine but what a step up. I feel the power!
New computers are the best.
