It pains me to see Goldeneye, MI2 and Cliffhanger mentioned in this thread, but agree about the scenes. :)) Okay, Cliffhanger is maybe a not-quite-great film. MI2 too is not. But Goldeneye! I love it too much.

One of my favorite opens in a movie is from Christopher McQuarrie's The Way Of The Gun. Everything about that opening scene gets me excited (which is sad because of the overwhelming meh factor of the movie, especially the last half). But watching Sarah Silverman run her mouth 8 ways to Sunday leading to Ryan Phillipe and Benecio Del Toro getting just the living crap kicked out of them is something I've always loved.

I didn't really like Night of the Hunter, but the basement chase and trip down the river are a couple of great scenes. I need to try watching it again sometime soon, though. Everything I read about makes me feel like I missed something or was watching it wrong.

Another great scene in a movie I didn't like is Timothy Carey's scene in Minnie & Moskowitz.

I didn't know who Sarah Silverman was at the time, but holy crap what a mouth on her in that scene. That opening was the best part of what turned out to be a very disappointing film.

3 from Hitchcock;

Suspicion- the lightbulb placed in the suspect glass of milk. Iconic image.
Saboteur- the climax at the Statue of Liberty. Beautiful suspense.
Torn Curtain- the struggling hands as Paul Newman fights in the kitchen.
I used to encourage everyone I knew to make art; I don't do that so much anymore. - Banksy

That's pretty cool. My guess would be something like water activated makeup. I feel like I've seen something like that before.

Isn't that what they did in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?
