Top 5 Snowy Movies
« on: May 16, 2014, 03:59:17 PM »
In honor of the heat scorching LA this week. Also, no Christmas/Holiday films.

Fargo
The Shining
The Thing
Doctor Zhivago
Never Cry Wolf

Honorable mention based on a childhood favorite: Cliffhanger

Do you just mean the December/presents holidays or no Groundhog Day either?

I had Groundhog day on my list, and thought a) it is technically a holiday movie and b) everyone would have it on their list anyway.

Good list. The only one I can think of immediately to add is Let the Right One In.

That was on my list until The Shining bumped it off.

Good lists, good lists.

The only one I can think to add that's not been mentioned, Transsiberian. Emily Mortimer, Woody H., and Ben Kingsley. Good thriller!

Smilla's Sense of Snow was interesting, but wouldn't be anywhere near my top 5. Jeremiah Johnson gets pretty snowy for a while, and that was a good one. Oh, and Grump Old Men! Lots of good snow antics. :)

Days of Heaven has a couple of scenes with snow. That counts, right?  :D
