I know Alamo Drafthouse gave Bullhead a theatrical release in the US (which is where I saw it), but i would be surprised if other US theaters did not also show it.

According to Wikipedia Drafthouse picked up the distribution rights at Fantastic Fest that year. It made $150,000 at the domestic box office, so it at least screened in the US, though maybe in a limited capacity. I'll concede, but I wish I didn't have to (The Drop is excellent).

I generally look to boxofficemojo to determine US release, along with the presence of theatrical reviews in the New York or Los Angeles Times.
