Silent Films
« on: August 18, 2014, 07:30:35 PM »
I have seen 3 silent films.

Metropolis
The Artist
Blancanieves (So much better than The Artist)

As you can see 2 of them are modern. So I need to watch more silent films and would love for some recommendations. Im mostly looking for classics and bare in mind I wont be having a silent film marathon so don't recommend to many!

Also will be watching Nosferatu this October, so you don't need to recommend me that.

The Essentials:

Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans
Intolerance: Love's Struggle Throughout the Ages
The Passion of Joan of Arc
City Lights
Sherlock Jr.

I could list about 30 more, but really, those are the ones that I think are both great and engaging that I'd recommend starting off.

My fave Chaplin is The Circus but in general I'm not a fan of him, so YMMV.  Modern Times is pretty enjoyable.
