(TIE) The Theory of Everything

I could vote for what I think though it wouldn't be based on what I have watched which is only 4 from that list so far.  two of the 4 I just don't see being nominated though I do like them which is Under the Skin and Calvary.  But I would be willing to bet Boyhood with make the cut and with the possible 10 nominees, Gone Girl has a decent chance.

In alphabetical order

American Sniper
Birdman
Boyhood
Foxcatcher
Gone Girl
The Imitation Game
Inherent Vice
Selma
Unbroken
Wild

I think Wild will be the first to get cut, with Imitation and Vice not far behind. Even if it ends up being garbage, Selma feels like a lock, as does Gone Girl, I imagine.

The best films on this list (that I have seen) are Mommy and Nightcrawler. I would be ecstatic if they are nominated for BP, but I doubt either has a shot. Both will contend with Nymphomaniac for my own personal Top Spot.

Starting to think that Gone Girl might happen. Moving a vote from Wild to there.

I'd rank these:

Boyhood (A-)
The Grand Budapest Hotel (A-)
Birdman (B+)
Gone Girl (B)
Whiplash (B-)
Foxcatcher (C+)
Interstellar (C+)
The Theory of Everything (D)

N/S: Selma, The Imitation Game.

Birdman
Boyhood
Foxcatcher
Gone Girl
The Grand Budapest Hotel
The Imitation Game
Selma
The Theory of Everything
Wild

I would also put Love Is Strange in as a dark horse, seeing as how - like Selma, The Imitation Game, and Wild - it's one of those kinds of films that seem to appeal to Oscar voters.  I suppose Unbroken also fits that description, but really didn't set any fires.  Into the Woods may also have a shot (in light of the GG noms).  I think Whiplash is too indie and has too many critics in the mainstream (mis)reading some sort of culturally offensive "point" to the film.  I also think the Oscar voters have not been fans of Nolan in the past and Interstellar is not going to make any new converts.

2. Birdman drops a spot because 1 person doesn't think it will be nominated.
3. The Imitation Game has 11 out of 15 votes.
4. (TIE) Foxcatcher - the next three have 10/15
(TIE) Selma
(TIE) Gone Girl (up from 8th Place last week)
7. (TIE) The Grand Budapest Hotel - 9/15
(TIE) The Theory of Everything drops having gained only 2 of the last 5 votes
9. Whiplash - hanging in at the back of the pack with 6/15 votes

The Imitation Game
Interstellar
A Most Violent Year

Surprised to see Whiplash so far back in the back.
Also surprised to see so much support for Foxcatcher and so little for Mr. Turner, A Most Violent Year, Nightcrawler and Love is Strange.
