4 of the 5 I've seen are in my top-10 of the year. That's pretty insane since I usually hate half of the films nominated. But it's gotta be Boyhood, which probably will win.

As I have not seen any of the films I will vote for which film will win the Oscar. Whilst Boyhood is definitely the lead contender I am going to go with Birdman.

The Grand Budapest Hotel winning would be really cool.

My Favourite: Whiplash (My #1 of 2014)
My Guess: Boyhood
What Should Win? I mean it's maybe a little on the nose, but Selma definitely speaks to a lot of current issues, on top of it being genuinely well made and surprisingly entertaining (considering its a racially charged biopic)

Of the nominations I've seen...
5 Stars
Whiplash
4 Stars
The Grand Budapest Hotel
The Imitation Game
Selma
3.5 Stars
Boyhood
2.5 Stars
American Sniper

Agreed. Actually, thinking about it, there are probably only 2 movies on this list I would be disappointed to see win. American Sniper and Theory of Everything. I haven't see them but I haven't heard anything remarkable said about either.

Am I the only one around here who didn't like Grand Budapest? I like Wes Anderson, but I felt like GBH was the most Wes Anderson a Wes Anderson film could be, and I guess that's what put me off. Almost too cartoony for my tastes.

Budapest is too good, it'll never win.

It probably needed to have a character riding a vintage bicycle made of recycled tuba parts to be better.
