Who are you laughing at? (A thread about comedy)
« on: January 22, 2015, 12:38:20 PM »
Tomorrow, Kyle Kinane's new special (and album), I Liked His Old Stuff Better comes out.

Chicago dude, one of the funniest guys around. A brilliant scumbag storyteller. If you watch enough Comedy Central, you know who he is. His first 2 albums (Death Of The Party & Whiskey Icarus) are 2 of the best comedy albums this decade has produced. So excited for this.

Some 20-odd years after falling in love with his special, This'll Take About An Hour, I'm finally going to see Jake Johannsen live this Sunday.

His latest special, Pictures of My Dinner, is quite solid, although I hope I don't hear a lot of the same material at the show.

Eddie Pepitone's "In Ruins" is on Netflix and is incredible. His stuff is equal parts angry & political and silly & absurd.

Chelsea Peretti's new special is also very funny and very bizarre.

Well, most of the second half of the show was the same material, but he mixed it up enough that it wasn't a big deal.  Really great show, what an absolute pro.  I need to start listening to his podcast again.

This was AMAZING. Find a way to get this in your system.

Also, glad you like Johannsen, Martin. I've seen him before and always liked him.

Still makes me laugh so much, so many years later.
