I've sent messages to everyone who voted for Spotlight in the Adapted Screenplay category, offering the chance to adjust votes in the Screenplay category (with changes limited just to Spotlight's eligibility). We'll see what happens.

Whoops, that's probably my mistake.

Huh, I guess that's what the Oscars did, but I'd have sworn the film was based on the articles/reporting of the Boston Globe.

Yea, I guess it gets into the tricky realm of it being based on true events, so it seems like it should be adapted, and yet, it's categorized as original.

When I saw it was marked as Adapted, I assumed it was an adaptation of a book published by the Keaton character sometime after the articles were published. He did write one of those right?

Well that is done for the year, having watched a huge 6 of the nominated films, I have completed my ballot and submitted it. To the victor goes victory.

There's still a few days left to watch movies, but I'm going to go ahead and turn in my ballot. I don't want to self-pressure myself into getting through the rest of my unseens and be unhealthy about it. There's a big temptation just to watch movies for the next 4 days, especially since the Ontario snow this week is making me limp toward depression. Anyway. Better luck next year, me!

I'm going to get The Peanuts Movie from redbox this weekend and then I'll get my ballot in. Apologies to Son of Saul, the lone holdout.

I have World of Tomorrow to watch still, and I might watch It Follows if I can convince myself to do horror, perhaps this weekend.
