Finally all the manure has been dug in ;D Started planting today, all the Raspberry canes are in. Five (half) of the Blueberry bushes are planted, will plant the rest tomorrow. Will also be planting the Strawberry bushes tomorrow, plus working on the compost, soil and manure heaps.

I will post some photos tomorrow.

Monty, you are so far out ahead of me! But! I took your lead and we got manure!

Now I'm going to let it sit, while I figure out what to do next...

I have a general gardening question. My strawberry patch hasn't produced strawberries for few years. Is it best to pull them out and start over? If so, are there strawberry types that are better than others?

I hope SOMEBODY had the presence of mind to bust out their Jeff Goldblum impression.

Today's been a glorious day for gardening :)

Before and after pictures of the wood chipping footpaths. It's these little things that add to the overall ambiance of the garden. That iron contraption in the bottom left picture, that's a boot/shoe scraper. Very useful, when working in the garden.

We have room for only one relatively small box for veggies, but it was nice to get it dug out and composted yesterday. Separated and re-planted garlic and parsley. Peas going in today.

Flower beds in desperate need of weeding and composting still, but the tulips add a nice touch of color, (note to self: plant more bulbs in fall) and the small blueberry bushes are filled with blooms.

Second flower bed - lots of blooms on this blueberry bush, too, and the bluebells underneath are just starting to bloom. When the bluebells are done blooming, I'll rip out the leaves (the bulbs stay intact underground) and plant some annuals in their place.

Those wood chips make all the difference, Monty! They're just asking to be walked on. :)

Beautiful yard, OAD! I've never grown or picked blueberries and didn't realize the bushes would be so tall. For some reason, I was thinking near the ground. Every spring, I wish I'd planted more tulip bulbs. :)

(Weird, that second picture I posted was right side up when I posted/viewed it on my iPad; now it's sideways.  :-\  Oh, well.)

Thanks! A lot was done before we moved in, so we were lucky! Blueberries get very big - or some varieties do! They do need to be uprooted or trimmed way back every 10 years (or a little less) though to stay healthy and productive.

Same, on the tulip bulbs! Why didn't I do more last fall!?
