That last one will be mine. Once I have some confidence that freezing nights are over, I'm going to get a couple catnip plants to put out on the balcony for Rama to nip at.

Rama won't eat up the whole plants? Cats have self control?

This is my garden. I really don't live in the past, but someone turned on the filter, on the phone. :)

minus the jungle gym.

It's been a bit of a slow process. There's a drip system that reaches this back area, but it wasn't working. Whether it didn't have enough water pressure to get out that far or a leak somewhere along the line, I'm not sure, but I finally decided to adjust the automatic sprinklers to hit these spots, so I didn't have to worry about watering. Oh, I should say that the theme of my garden is, "Easy." I don't want to work harder than I have too. :)

I also didn't have enough dirt along the fence, so I put up the cinderblocks, to keep the new dirt in. The weeds are cleared and I've bought most of the seeds, now what? I've always just dabbled in gardening, putting in tomato plants, squash and a few other things, and hoping everything would grow. I need to concentrate on fertilizer, right? :)

I have a long strip of ground for the vines, but still, this will only be a sampling garden. These are the items I'm going to grow:

Beans (What kind of structure do you use to help them climb?)
Cantalope
Carrots
Cucumbers
Eggplant
Honeydew
Onions
Peppers
Potatoes
Squash
Tomatoes (I've tried cages, but would like to use a post, maybe? What works for you?)
Watermelon

I guess the first one is more like ours.  We composted three large bins of soil, and laid that down in preparation for our planting.  We've already got onions and garlic sprouting.

Compost! That's how you've done it. You have a great garden!

It's progressing, still early days. All the planter beds are new, all the footpaths are nearly done and it'll look better when the compost, manure and the vegetables are in.  And the bark chipping surrounds are down.

It's beautiful already!! Look at your fence, it's picture perfect! I forget you live in storybook land. :))

Can't wait to see your garden's development.
