From a purely math perspective this is much more fair.

I'll probably switch it up next year, unless I can remember the reason not to.

Damn, I forgot to change the formula this year. I might recalculate these results this weekend.

edit: Nah, maybe next year.

Why is [this film] eligible for Best Debut Feature even though IMDb says it's the director's [nth] film?

The Best Debut Feature category recognizes a director's US theatrical feature debut. Earlier films that did not receive theatrical distribution in the US do not affect a director's eligibility.

For the few people who were wondering how Force Majeure even qualified for Best Debut Feature. The category is about breaking into the US theatrical market. If a director previous found success overseas or on DVD or at film festivals or on tv or with student films, that doesn't limit eligibility for this category.

First post updated with full, corrected results.

Categories with new winners, as a result of the missing data: Non-English Language Film, Sound, Comedic Scene, and Line.

Sorry for the mixup.

No need to be sorry, except for that these are almost all worse picks than the mixed up ones. I liked wrong us better than right us!

Success Rates

I calculate success rates by taking the total number of winners that each person had seen before voting and dividing that by the number of winners they actually voted for. For example, if you voted in 24 categories, had seen 21 of those eventual winners before voting, and had 7 of your picks go on to win, your success rate was 33% (7/21).

Huh, my first ever year above average. Looks like the forum is finally starting to come around.

At the end of the day, the outcome I'm happiest for:
Best Overlooked Film
We Are the Best! — 39.9%
     Night Moves — 19.0%
Like Father, Like Son — 18.7%
     Bird People — 11.4%
     The One I Love — 11.1%

In a sense, the winner of this becomes the Least Overlooked Film...of all the films that were overlooked, it was least overlooked. :D
