I've worked thirty-one years to find this life an empty dream.

10. Early Spring (Yasujiro Ozu, 1956)

---

You two have really worn me out tonight.

9. La Notte (Michelangelo Antonioni, 1961)

Whoa, whoa. You better watch what you say about my car. She's real sensitive.

8. Christine (John Carpenter, 1983)

---

Marcia, I put my whole self into everything I do.

7. A Face in the Crowd (Elia Kazan, 1957)

---

All you gotta do is learn to feel sorry for yourself. One of the best indoor sports, feeling sorry for yourself. A sport enjoyed by all, especially the born losers.

I'm a broke, pissed off nigger from Chicago, and I'm down to my last cigar.

You ask what you should watch. I ask how I should live. It's the same thing.

Too shy to mix, too scared to enter the union building. I was more and more alone. My only romance was in poetry and literature.

I envy your film education at your age. The quotes suggest you are learning the right lessons. Sorry, what's your favourite 2015 film? Mine was Carol. Now it's Joy. Before that it was Amy. I'm just waiting for Brenda to come out now.

14. My Sassy Girl (Kwak Jae Young, 2001)

I assumed '08-'09 roujin watched that.

12. My Best Friend's Wedding (P.J. Hogan, 1997)

Have you read Chapter 15 in Hollywood from Vietnam to Reagan...and Beyond yet?  Chapter 16 is even better.

Good list.

Sassy Girl is one of those films that I was close to seeing many times, but never did. Haven't picked up that Wood book. Want to!

Didn't watch all that many films this year so a small list

By far at the top of the list:

A Separation  - this will be high in my Top 100

Guilty of Pleasure
Last Train Home
Moonrise Kingdom - also will make high up in my Top 100 - plan to revisit as soon as I can
