Glad that Tangerine made a good showing. Also glad that 45 Years didn't make it anywhere so that it can get a full push next year.

Considering that 2015 was one of my worst years for catching new stuff in quite a while, I have fewer multi-nom films to see than expected (and only 5 with 3 or more noms).

Thanks for the info on The Assassin, Bondo. That'll be my top priority.

Is it of any concern to the Best Debut nomination that Selma was Ava Duvernay's third theatrically released film?

I'm pretty cool with this group of nominees, even if my Steve Jobs bombing didn't really work.

At least it got nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay.  Unlike the Oscars, the Filmspots are immune to Laurene Powell Jobs' you-didn't-mention-me-or-my-kids campaign against the film.

The Sorkin commentary (with the Editor, too!) was really interesting. Basically laid out how much of the incident of the film was made up (his boss and he never spoke again after Jobs was fired from Apple) but the truth of the relationships were there.

That's my thought on the lack of The Lobster.

From FAQ:

Why are there no FYC mentions for the Overlooked Film category?

The nominees for Overlooked Film are not determined by direct vote. The category isn't a part of the nominations ballot. Rather, the nominees are chosen from among the films that received votes in all of the other categories but failed to earn any nominations.

I wonder if I single-handedly got A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night a nomination here?

I am very much out of the loop this year. A couple of these I'll be watching in the near future, but not enough to be comfortable casting a vote.

Seen:
     Ex Machina
What We Do in the Shadows
     World of Tomorrow
     Spy
     The Martian
Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief
     Star Wars: The Force Awakens
     It Follows
     Avengers: Age of Ultron
     Trainwreck

Really want to see:
     Mad Max: Fury Road
     Room
     Spotlight
     Carol
     Phoenix
     The Look of Silence

Kinda want to see:
     The Hateful Eight
     Creed
     Selma
     Brooklyn
     Bridge of Spies
     Clouds of Sils Maria
     The Assassin
     Shaun the Sheep Movie
     Song of the Sea
     Amy
     The Overnighters
     Sicario
A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night
Gett: The Trial of Viviane Amsalem

Would maybe be willing to watch:
     Inside Out
     The Big Short
     Steve Jobs
     Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck
     Crimson Peak
     Mistress America

Don't much want to see:
     The Revenant
     Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation
     Love & Mercy
     The Peanuts Movie
     The End of the Tour

Don't know anything about:
     Tangerine
     Anomalisa
     Blind
     Mommy
     White God
     The Guest
     Slow West
     Son of Saul
     Jauja
