What song did you wake up with today?
« on: March 23, 2016, 10:45:46 AM »
Every morning I wake up with a song in my head.  Often it is a song I heard two days ago.  Not yesterday.  Not three days ago.  I know, it's weird.

I will randomly be posting songs I woke up with.  Just because.

Today's song:

From the first James Bond movie I saw.

I'll have to pay attention when I wake up tomorrow. Fun thread, oldkid!

Great, now you've got that song stuck in my head. :P

That was definitely one of my favorite Bond themes, despite not having seen the movie (or being a fan of Moore's era).

I wake up every morning to "Cantaloupe Island" by Grant Green & Donal Byrd. I don't know why. Last year, it was "Cast Your Fate to the Wind" by Vince Guaraldi. Once again, I don't know why.

Usually when I have a song that is constantly in my head, there is a noise that my brain equates to that song.  For instance, my current ringtone is slightly reminiscent of Dan Fogelberg's The Sand and the Foam.  At my wife's laundromat there is a noise that is constantly putting the Band Aid theme song from the 80s in her head.

It is a burden.

Every day I walk past the Xanadu Blu-Ray that's currently sitting on my TV stand. It makes me sing "Xan-a-doooooo!" in my head to the tune of "Voulez Vous". So I've had ABBA on the brain a lot.

I do not wake up to, but it constantly pops into my head, Let it Go. Ah the joys of having young children obsessing about a song. ...It's back.

I wake up every morning to "Cantaloupe Island" by Grant Green & Donal Byrd. I don't know why.

Have you listened to the Herbie Hancock version?

Yeah, and it's a little bit better, but Byrd's is just the one I have purchased.  8)

Well, I woke up in the very early morning, and I hope to get some more sleep, but the song I awoke to was:

Probably inspired by the old timey country music I was falling asleep to in Tender Mercies.  (I often fall asleep to a movie.  Just tired.  Has nothing to do with the quality of the movie.)
