Haha, I've seen that clip. I remember wishing that it was Kevin Conroy who appeared instead of Will Arnett.

From what I've read so far, this review by Drew McWeeny has struck me as the most interesting because he's a fan of Man of Steel. I like the he doesn't blame Snyder or the writing like most reviews have, but the corporate strategy by the studio to build their own Marvel Money Machine.

What amazes me about much of the negative critical reaction to Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is the notion that the script is appreciably dumber, and appreciably more weightless (narratively and visually), than any of the Avengers films (see, e.g., Vision, the pinnacle of comic book dumbness) - which ushered in this new formula for financial success in this genre: throw in as many superheroes as possible to fuel more action and compensate for the fact that none of the them are that interesting.  That said, on a personal subjective note, at 6-8 years old (the period when I was actually reading comic books), I was interested in Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman,* and I was wholly uninterested in Captain America, Hulk, or Thor.

(* In the interests of full disclosure, Linda Carter made me feel things that I should not have felt at that age.)

The script is worse, not necessarily because of reduced plausibility, but at least because it is less snappy and some lines are just cringe-worthy. I don't need the humour (although it is appreciated) but I do need the characters to talk like people. Or superpeople technically.

So, am I going to be the only one defending this ?

Paradoxically, I blame the strategy, the directing and the writing.

I went in with very low expectations and ended up really enjoying B v S (I didn't like Man of Steel).  I thought the acting was strong by everyone.  Lex was over to the top but not enough to derail the movie for me.  Anyone else see this and think the 29% RT reviews are too low?

Well...it exceeded my low expectations.
WW was pretty cool.
I liked Batman in action at the end when he was rescuing Supe's mom.
Superman is boring as a hero to me - I like my heroes conflicted and living in the gray area of morality. The Bat has that covered. I am tired of Kryptonian tech gone bad and reanimating Zod w/o Shannon (even as Doomsday) was kinda weak. The world's greatest detective couldn't detect he was being played..?
It was watchable but not noteworthy. That's about all I can say.
Hey, nice marmot!
