I can see that, except for Tree of Life, which loses a lot when you don't have the music.

And I think that the significant thing about Into Great Silence is the pacing.  Deliberately slow, meditative, which couldn't be replicated in a graphic novel.

Ah, looks like the titles evolved on the thread. Started as Into Great Silence and became Into the Void, which I was thinking was Enter the Void. That would be a pretty remarkable double feature!
