I have to say my chat earlier with OAD & FCM was a breakthrough. It made me think the usual discussions are limited if you really want to get to the heart of an issue. I think Bondo made this point a while back, but I had the usual old person reaction to chat, that it's for the birds and young people. Although I had an exciting chat with a lady whilst playing Hearts once.
I agree that chat offers something that the forum doesn't - the immediacy, the heightened informality all make for a different and valuable sort of interaction.

I wish I had time for hanging out in chat a bit more; I just find it takes an extended time and attention commitment that I can't generally afford to take away from my family or other commitments.

Voted for several, although mdc is my favorite. I stay mainly in show discussion, movie talk, and no movie talk

Why is there an overlooked films section? Most aren't even overlooked.

Can we maybe start a new bracket since the current ones don't have much traction? I've wanted to join for awhile but want to be in from the start so I can figure out what the hell is going on

Well, there was talk of a 90s European bracket...I think the next one should be much smaller in terms of number of films. That does tend to limit it to more well known thing, limiting the possibility of discovery, but it makes it more manageable.

this inspired me to request an 80s bracket pair - i'm ready to get back into it :)
But I wish the public could, in the midst of its pleasures, see how blatantly it is being spoon-fed, and ask for slightly better dreams.

The ones I did not vote for mostly do not exist at all anymore.
