#593:Swiss Army Man / Kiarostami / Top 5 'Body' Movies
« on: July 08, 2016, 12:18:44 PM »

If you were paying any attention to the Sundance Film Festival back in January, it’s likely that you caught wind of a film that was being referred to as ‘the Daniel Radcliffe Farting Corpse Movie.’ There were reports of walk outs. Well that movie has an actual title - SWISS ARMY MAN - and it actually does star Daniel Radcliffe as a flatulent corpse. It also stars Paul Dano as a desperate castaway. This week Adam and guest host Melissa Tamminga (aka, oneaprilday) from the Seattle Screen Scene have a review of SWISS ARMY MAN and share their Top 5 ‘Body’ Movies. Plus a conversation with Movie Mezzanine's Tina Hassannia about the legacy of director Abbas Kiarostami, who died earlier this week at 76.

I was so honored to be asked to do it - and it was so fun to do. :)

Now I'm kinda hoping there's a last-minute guest-host opening for the year-end sausage-fest.

Like in recent years, there will be lots of female voices on that show. :)

Acknowledged ... But gender aside, in her own right, I found that M brings a nice mix of natural articulation and pure enthusiasm.  Thumbs up.

Have to admit, I was about to skip it owing to lack of interest in the topics, but then I saw oad was stepping in and so I listened, which maybe supported my lack of interest in the topics. If that makes sense. ;D
