The A-Number-1 Best Song(s) of All Time: Objectively
« on: August 11, 2016, 02:57:04 PM »
I'll sometimes convince myself that whatever song I'm listening to at the moment is the A-Number-1 Best Song of All Time: Objectively. It's not every song, because some songs are just good. But there are songs that are all timers, inarguable classics that you never skip past or listen to in the background. They insist upon your attention and not a moment of your time is wasted for it. So how about we create a repository for these. Again, these are songs that compete for your top spot on a regular basis, so none of that pretty-good stuff in here. Though you need not follow this rule, most of mine will have a saxophone in it, or a harmonica. Don't know why, but they work for me. To start us off, the inspiration for this thread:

David Bowie- Young Americans

Love that Kendrick song. It's definitely an "everything song" (I love that idea, too).

As for the others, you don't mess around with those short little 10 minute ditties, do you? I can appreciate maximalism, and most of my songs that I post here will be bigger than smaller. Don't know if I'll have any that beat that Yes song, though!

Yea, I like my songs long. I could always post the 45 minute epic that is Thick as a Brick but it's really not one of my favorites.

Two that I would have hard time deciding between.. Either Time or Wish You Were Here from Pink Floyd

Can just links be posted that won't embedded the video into the page?  Just make you go directly to Youtube?  That probably be a better overall solution if the forum software has issues.

That's a solution we're looking into for sure. I can't see why it would be an issue but I'm waiting for the experts because I'm really an idiot when it comes to these kinds of things. Stay tuned!

Could easily post 100 songs.

Have we had a thread for top songs lists? Does anyone else have a top list? I have a top 50 that I'd love to revise for a thread.
