Most boring cuisine on the globe.

Have you never been to the UK or Germany ? I'll eat kefta every day rather than suffering through English food.
Touché, Teproc!

England has a woesome food culture, while the Germans at least have their sausages.

The Germans keep getting dissed, but there is some pretty nifty non-sausage related food in Germany.

Someone please send me a flamenküche.

Cloud Atlas  (Lana Wachowski, Lilly Wachowski, & Tom Tykwer, 2012)

If you stitch together enough silly stories with conviction, do they become less silly almost by default? I don't know. As plenty of people have said, for all its flaws (I cringed one more than one occasion), Cloud Atlas is rarely boring. Its Filmspot win for Editing is perhaps the supreme example of the best editing equating to the most editing (especially when temporal shifts are involved). The score is probably more award-worthy, though there was honestly too much of it for me appreciate it fully.

Grade: C+

I read an interview with the Wachowski's regarding this film. It was maddening. To sum it up "it makes perfect sense, but we're not going to tell you how and you figure it out". ::)

I still can't muster up the energy to seek out this film. I know some people adore it, but nothing they say makes me think I'd be one of those people.

Still waiting until I've read the book. You know, twenty years from now or so.

Anyone we would know?

That editing win is sad.

I would have been kind of neat to see Cloud Atlas as mini-series... Black Mirror style I guess. As a film I just don't get it and it's loooong.
