Wow, that's super '90s oad! Living near family you're on good terms with is always nice. I'm 5 minutes away from my parents and my youngest two siblings. It's the only reason I'm still in Waco...well that and the low cost of living.

Soo 90's.  :D  And yes, being near family, especially having kids, is wonderful.

Name: Jake
Age: 17, senior in highschool
Hometown/Current town: The Woodlands, Texas
When I am not a slaving automaton bound to the egregiously unsatisfactory, over-generalized secondary schooling system, I am: reading, watching, listening, etc., outdoorsing it, writing, eating, debating, "gardening", attempting to cook, or playing around on the guit box, mandolin, or piano.
If I could be anywhere right now, I would be: the list could certainly go on; bushwacking in Wrangell-St. Elias or Frank Church Wilderness, doing a helpx in Georgia, or hand-rearing and aiding animals in Limpopo., to name a few. Ah, youth, you hold many possibilities.
Sibling(s): Sister (20) at Wheaton College
Last book read: The Face of Another by Kobo Abe, Last Book Loved: If on a winter's night a traveler by Italo Calvino, Book Currently Loving: Fahrenheit 451 by Bradburry
@oneaprilday, new favorite town: Bellingham, WA. I was just there on the Labor Day Weekend! My dad and I backpacked in the North Cascades for my birthday. We based in Bellingham and went to Aslan Brewing Company and Mallard's on the last evening there. Terrific trip all around. I was meant to be born in the NW. I would be able to put backpacking or hiking on that list of activities, but one has to scrounge for such spots near Houston or else drive a great distance.

Here's a picture of the trip, btw:

Hi Jake :)

I hope you get to do some of those volunteer trips. Youth really is full of possibilities!

That hike you went on is gorgeous. I want to go to the North Cascades!
