It's a New Day and I'm Feeling Good

Dragonfly out in the sun, you know what I mean, don't you know
Butterflies all havin' fun, you know what I mean
Sleep in peace when the day is done, that's what I mean
And this old world is a new world
And a bold world
For me
Stars when you shine
You know how I feel
Scent of the pine
You know how I feel
Oh freedom is mine
And I know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me
And I'm feeling good

This song always inspires me. Anytime I hear it, I really do feel good. But why? Well, it's about renewal, rebirth, re-creation and just being fully and marvelously awake and alive. So, I've been pondering a lot about it and want a place to build on this feeling. Being bold, by dreaming, planning and experiencing new things and rediscovering past pleasures is where I think it's at.

I've never really liked the term "bucket list," (we did had a bucket list thread here at one time) but there is something to it. So I asked some filmspotters what a better name for a wish list of experiences could be and smirnoff, off the top of his head, said, "Preliminary Phase Projects." :) That's about as good a title as any! I'll use it.

Use this thread in anyway you like and I hope you do use it, for I get inspiration from all of you. As for me, I'm going to dream, plan and experience and see where it takes me. If you set up a "home" post where you want to link future posts too, I'll set up the index here:

I've been tooling around on these Honda 70's this evening.

One is an automatic and the other a manual. They're old, but they were easy to maneuver and I felt really comfortable driving them around. I'm starting small, but it's for the best. I don't have access to a midsize motorcycle to go to next, only a large, heavy Triumph, which I'm not ready for yet (or if ever!).

Must figure out my next step... :)

This topic has this singing in my head:

Oh what a beautiful morning,
Oh what a beautiful day,
I've got a wonderful feeling,
Everything's going my way.

Great stuff on your list, Bondo!

This topic has this singing in my head:

Oh what a beautiful morning,
Oh what a beautiful day,
I've got a wonderful feeling,
Everything's going my way.

That works too!

I'd travel there just to see you guys, though I'd get some sightseeing in too, while I was at it.

The other song is from Oliver!

OLIVER

Who will buy
This wonderful morning?
Such a sky
You never did see!

ROSE SELLER

Who will buy my sweet red roses?

OLIVER

Who will tie
It up with a ribbon
And put it in a box for me?

Preliminary phase projects?  I suppose.  For me, these are mostly dreams, some of which I don't really know that I'll get around to, some I certainly will.   I think we should have the freedom to dismiss certain items off of our list as being unrealistic as time goes by and I refuse to restrict my "project" list to reality.

But this is what I got:

-Visit all the major national parks
-Move out of the Portland area to a quieter place
-Become a full-time writer (religious non-fiction and non-religious fiction)
-Get a book published (with real paper pages!)
-Establish a colony of homeless people, perhaps in a ghost town
-Give my wife a house and especially a kitchen where she is in charge
-Move the multitudes out of my house into their own housing
