Top 5 Untreated Science Fiction Premises
« on: November 10, 2016, 11:31:15 AM »
A lot of science-fiction movies are based on intriguing or exciting technological premises. Unfortunately, most of them do not deliver and we are stuck with an interesting idea being superficially treated by a mediocre film. What are the five science-fiction movies with the best premises that did little with them?

Surrogates
People only experience life through a virtual connection to robotic surrogates anymore.

Chappie
A robot gains sentience ushering a learning journey from a baby-like state.

Thor
The Norse Pantheon turns out to be a race of highly advanced aliens.

Elysium
Class disparities are pushed to the extreme when Earth's elite start living on a space station.

Jupiter Ascending
An Earth woman inherits an interstellar planet-harvesting commercial empire.

The majority of zombie movies/shows are like this. It's either how to survive zombies or how to survive humans now that society has completely collapsed (which uses zombies as the reason why it is like that but you don't actually need them to be there).
