Working on Joe Hill's The Fireman. I think he's the best genre writer going and the first 100 or so pages of this prove me right so far. Very engaging and with interesting ideas.

Uh, Junior, you are being crafty by not saying who Joe Hill is.

You mean the guy he looks exactly like and whose work he's referenced several times? The guy who previously held the designation I gave him? We don't have evidence yet, but I can only assume Joe Hill is a better actor than Sai Kung. Let's hope that apple fell far far away from the tree.

The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey

Anyone else read this? I'm reading it for a new book club I joined. I knew it was magical realism, but they're dragging out the reveal FOREVER.

I just bought this on Kindle. Let me know your final thoughts when you're done.

After conquering Napoleon, I need something light, so Complete Sherlock Holmes is next.  Might duck in and out of the set and with another book as well.

Just started 'Dad is Fat' by Jim Gaffigan after it was recommended by many people. I hope it will be something light and funny and not scary given my first child is due in a few months.

Started 'Red Rising' knowing nothing about it other than having it recommended. I'm a couple chapters in and getting a very strong 'Hunger Games'/'Divergence' vibe from it.That's fine, but hope it brings something in its own right.

The first two are good. After that they're diminishing returns IMHO.
