Saltine - MR Carey sounds like someone I need to get to know.

Not really my genre, but I enjoyed this book for the detail and the biology.  The writer made everything seem plausible and understandable and provided some really interesting twists along the way.

BlueVoid - King is a master. His output alone is cause for pantheon status. I really need to tackle The Dark Tower series this year.

That's a series I want to catch up with. Also I hear The Stand is must-read. It's tough to pick what to read next since I've never been a reader and there are so many amazing choices!

The Stand is epic.
I am also a huge fan of his short story collections like 4 Past Midnight and Skeleton Crew.
Actually 4PM is a collection of novellas and not short stories but potaytoes/potaatoes...

I wish I could read The Stand for the first time again.  I read it again a few years ago and it felt so spotty...

Red Rising - I really wanted to hate this book for ripping off so many other books-- it's similarities to The Hunger Games, Divergent trilogy... even Harry Potter.  It seems to want to echo these others works and play with your previous knowledge and expectations. That said, it sucked me in and I ended up enjoying it. I guess I'm just a sucker for these types of stories.

I'll have to recommend it to my daughter, who also gets sucked into those kind of books.

Finally finished a book this year! For added benefit, I finished another one, too.

1. Caleb Williams by William Godwin (Byron-Shelley Circle Class)
2. March, Book 1 by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin, Nate Powell (pleasure)

There's a pretty good chance I finish both this weekend. Another good chance that it changes later in the semester from pleasure reading into a topic for my final essay in my Race and Lit for Youth class.
