Are there any actors over 60 who you feel like their best performances are still to come?

Michael Keaton is in a great place now. He's been better in the past 5 years than during the 80s and 90s.
Bill Nighy has a similar acting style, but within that he's given some great performances.
I'd also say that Andy Garcia has improved a lot in this century. Don't know if he'll get a chance, but he has potential.

With Another Year and Phantom Thread, Lesley Manville is certainly one to watch.
Sigourney Weaver isn't done. I can feel it.

For what it’s worth, Keaton’s performance in Dumbo is one of his very worst.

But it's the kind of bad performance you get from an actor who's trying and not just Bruce Willising it. Maybe if he had a director to guide him.

I was gonna say Tom Cruise will be mighty interesting to watch once he can't do action stuff anymore. He's 56 now, just signed in to do 2 more M:I movies, but after that he's gonna be wide open. More Magnolia/Eyes Wide Shut stuff from him maybe?

Here's hoping.

not just Bruce Willising it.
Yes! This kind of sums up the question. :)

There's a particular type of movie ending I'm becoming very fond of. It's where two characters that were in conflict for most of the picture share a benign activity. Usually this is a subtle way to indicate forgiveness or an understanding. Two characters that have been through a lot and are maybe not making peace, but reaching an understanding that things between them will turn out okay. Usually there's no dialogue or something simple like, "you want some coffee?'

Is there a director who is perhaps known for creating this ending? I just watched it in Ozu's A Story of Floating Weeds (1934) and I was wondering if this was the first. It was a sharing of food, which reminded me of the greatest version of this (and the earliest one I can recall seeing) Big Night.

3:10 to Yuma (1957) is a terrific example of this. Checks every condition you laid out. The ending (or even the entire film) can be viewed on YouTube last time I checked.

It feels like you would find this type of ending in westerns to a higher degree than other genres.
