Les misérables wins Best Picture, to Sandrine Kiberlain's delight, but unfortunately for them it might be seen as an afterthought after what just happened.
"Fun" fact: with his two wins tonight (out of three possible), Polanski now has 10 total and is tied with Jacques Audiard for people with the most César awards overall (all of which he won after the rape btw).
J'accuse won three awards, two of them were specifically Polanski's. As if the voters didn't even like the film that much (Dujardin didn't win for example, and he could have since he's never won even though it's not a particularly showy role and Roschdy Zem was also overdue) but just wanted to spite everyone who really didn't want this to happen.
Sorry for the spam, I'm done now, and pretty sad about how this whole thing turned out. I like that Haenel walked out though.
