An army of nightmares, huh? Let's get this party started.

Not even if you watch them like this...

Oh good! I use that one a lot!

I wonder if the time is coming for you to meet Ripley in the Alien Trilogy. (Just the trilogy.)

I've met Ripley! :)

I still need to see Alien.

I was looking for Alien, figuring if you hadn't seen the original you wouldn't have seen the sequel.

Funny.  I saw the sequel before the original as well.

2. DCU. Not even once.
Is this referring to the D.C. Universe of films?

Yup! SUICIDE SQUAD is not only a bad film, it's indicative of a direction with the entire franchise that the producers have no CINECAST!ing clue what's going on or what to do and are just winging it based on whatever Marvel is doing which is actually listening to fans by hiring fans to write/produce/direct their material (but they're far too scared to do that). Watching the Cinemasins on SUICIDE SQUAD reminded me that the pacing is truly horrendous for SUICIDE SQUAD, literally nothing happens for an hour - just pure exposition.

I wonder why they let Snyder direct Justice League after the bomb of BvS. Was the movie already in production?

BvS wasn't really a bomb, box-office wise. It wasn't the humongous it they might have been hoping for, but it did well.

I meant critically, which I guess doesn't matter.

1. This is the most embarrassing one to admit, but, um, Isabelle Huppert is an incredible actress. It's not that I didn't "know" that per se, but now that I've seen Things To Come and Elle (and not just, uh, I Heart Huckabees) I fully understand. And I want more!

2. Beyonce Knowles has finally transitioned from an artist with some songs that I admit are very good to someone who can shape a cohesive and moving piece of art.

3. Ralph Fiennes is a comedic treasure. After A Bigger Splash, Hail Caesar!, and 2014's Grand Budapest Hotel, I now have an insatiable appetite for his electric energy and comic timing!

4. It's okay to not like Kylo Ren. But mark my words, history will laugh its ass off at you if you sleep on Adam Driver.

5. The award for the year's Most Dominant Film Genre goes to. . .the Documentary! Of my Top 40 films of the year (all of which are B+/A- and above), an astounding seven of them are documentaries. And that doesn't even include getting to spend time with Steve Gleason (what a lovely human being and what a genuinely sweet movie) and having my personal documentary hero, Werner Herzog, show up to do some wonderfully eccentric musing about volcanoes.

Yea, Adam Driver has made quite the career already and I can only assume he's going to be around for a good time given how strong his body of work is already.

He also makes one hell of a singing cowboy! Speaking of which, can the Coens make me a Hobie Doyle/Al Cody musical roadtrip movie?
