What's Up, Doc? - A Looney Tunes Group Marathon
« on: January 11, 2017, 11:55:32 AM »
It's time! We talked elsewhere about doing this as a group and I decided to get the ball rolling. I was agonizing how we should organize it, and I think it just makes the most sense to stick to the bluray releases and go year by year through the releases. That's a total of 150 shorts, which is a decent sampling of the series. I'm thinking maybe 5 shorts a week. Might wait until February to start this up so we can dedicate time to Filmspots.

Are each of these like a 20 minute episode or are they something like 4 minute scenes?

I don't know that I will be able to participate at all. Even after the winners are announced I have to many watchlists I need to get through.

I'm in, whenever this happens.

@DH : looks like they're mostly in the 7-8 minutes range.

If there's any practical way to go chronologically, I'd definitely prefer that.

Do you want a complete list of 1078 titles?

Possibly!

Or maybe just the complete list for 1935-1964, and only a few select highlights from the surrounding years.

edit: Or, more realistically, stick with the lineup of films provided on the Blu-Rays, but watch them chronologically.

Yea, when I saw the whole list I gawked. Not even sure how many of those are available legally. Figured it best to just stick to what everyone should be able to get access to easily.

We could totally reshuffle them to be chronological. I like the idea of watching them that way, just didn't have to time to lay them out that way right now.

Okay, I've sorted them all by year. At a rate of 5 episodes a week, it'll take about 30 weeks, which sounds good to me.
