Serious question: Are Sherlock episodes eligible?

We're going to build a wall between film and TV and TV is going to pay for it!

Sherlock has been living in film all its life. It's more film than series.

I logged last year's x-mas special (Abominable Bride) as a movie but the seasons as TV.
Regardless, the latest seasons of the show are not good enough to warrant Filmspot noms anyway.

Is The LEGO Batman Movie going to be eligible for Best Debut? The first one I enjoyed enough, but Cera had me looking forward to this, but didn't realize that Chris McKay was directing. That man orchestrated one of animated TV's best sequences in quite some time with the end of "Numb" to open Moral Orel's third season. Been waiting to see him get something more than TV for quite a while, thought this was the Clone High people again, but so much more excited about it now to learn that McKay is behind the helm.

Yeah, it looks to be eligible. McKay's 2002 film 2wks, 1yr is a 7.9 rating on IMDb from just twelve votes, so it certainly didn't have theatrical distribution; and tv work doesn't impact eligibility in the Feature Debut category.

Is Lady Bird technically eligible for Best Debut Feature?

Greta Gerwig previously co-directed Nights and Weekends with Joe Swanberg in 2008. It only played for 1 week in 1 theater.

I really hope it is eligible, but noticed this credit in her filmography and wanted to make sure.

Hmm, tricky. We previously have not counted co-director credits (e.g., with Pixar) as disqualifiers for this category, but in those cases the "co-director" credit was explicit. It's a bit of a gray area here since Swanberg and Gerwig were given equal billing on Nights and Weekends. I wouldn't want to set a precedent that would make Ethan Coen eligible for the category somewhere down the line, but I don't think a one-time exception would be out of line here. Anyone else have an opinion?
