Best Documentary
Ice and the Sky
Supersonic

I'm trying to work through this list for Docember, and it looks like the US release titles of these are Antarctica: Ice & Sky and Oasis: Supersonic, respectively. Both are available on Amazon Prime.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

Best Screenplay [Original] - seconded
Best Supporting Actor - Sam Rockwell (he was nominated once as Actor - I think he should be in Supporting)

Supporting who? He’s got his own A to Z journey that runs alongside McDormand. He is supported by the other police, including Harrelson, and gets lots of screen time away from the female lead, discovering things about himself and changing in major ways. So, he’s the lead both in terms of time the movie spends with him and how much he goes through during that time.

Keeping in mind that not every film has a lead male and lead female role (or even either), I do think McDonagh's script plays with this very notion, introducing Rockwell as a sidekick character and encouraging us to think of him in those terms, and then slowly but steadily revealing, by the end, it's his story as much as McDormand's.

I probably won’t see it in time but will vote for Hawkins on principle.

It's a good enough script to develop this secondary character but the fact is that we are here because Mildred Hayes decides to put up Three Billboards because her daughter was raped and killed (and not by Sam Rockwell's character). He is secondary in an active sense (behind Mildred) and in a passive sense (behind Harrelson's character). I don't see how there is any argument.
