Iron Man 2? 2? Really? That one?

What did Seven Samurai change?

I have seen 4 out of the first 5 and while I do recognize a common flavour of melancholy there that you could compare to Anderson's favoured tone, I don't know that I can agree with you.

Yea, Iron Man 2 basically opened the door for the modern superhero franchise juggernauts. Is it a good film? No. Is it influential? I think so.

Seven Samurai felt like it set the standard for blockbusters like Star Wars and the idea of the team movie. Sure, there were team movies before it, but I think it took it to the next level.

I would have to go with an earlier superhero movie than that.

I would put Spiderman 2 (2004) ahead of Iron Man 2 (2010) as opening the door for the modern superhero franchise juggernauts.

From last year, Hunt For The Wilderpeople felt like Wes Anderson in the bush.

I guess I should have reworded it as a cinematic universe as IM2 really put that idea in the mind of Hollywood and it only seems to be gaining more and more momentum each year.
