Ozploitation favorites
« on: March 08, 2017, 11:58:27 PM »
For a while I've considered doing an Ozploitation series for my blog, and now I have a chance to see Razorback in 35mm this weekend in Chicago. Seems like as good a reason as any to start this project!

So far, other than Razorback, I will probably include The Cars that Ate Paris, Walkabout, and perhaps one of the old Mad Max films. But to be a marathon worth its salt, I need at least a few more solid contenders.

What Ozploitation movies do y'all recommend?

Wake in Fright seems like one of the big ones, unless you've already seen it.

Personal Opinions aside, the key Ozploitation films not yet mentioned include Patrick and Road Games. The first Mad Max is the only one that qualifies as Ozploitation. My personal favorites are Long Weekend and The Plumber.

This list divided into categories is the best I've seen for making selections.

Cars That Ate Paris & The Plumber are both really good AND if you're getting them on dvd they both come on one disc!

STONE is solid pulpy Ozploitation, Gravediggers classic gang moniker.  WAKE IN FIGHT is good, and I agree with Jeff CARS THAT ATE PARIS is really great.

It's like a psychedelic Mad Max!

Awesome! You guys really delivered, this is exactly what I hoped for. Lots of titles to explore.

I wonder if Adam and Josh have ever considered an Ozploitation marathon? Would be a fun one!
