Two of those have been released here. I have watched both. I know nothing about all the other ones.

How many french movies do you watch every year?

I've linked above to my list for this year, which has 50 titles (French films I saw in theaters in 2017) and my 2016 list has 49, so it seems to be stable around 50.

The two in question are Valerian and the Lumière doc right ?

Awesome reading, Teproc!

Thanks. :)

You got the two right. And Lumière only at special theatres. We only get shitty comedies and the odd mediocre biopic.

Valarian was much better than what I heard and I want to kick myself for listening to the critics and not going to see it in the theatre.  It reminds me of the original Star Wars, packed with a lot of fun, with almost no depth, but a great time at the cinema with special effects and lots of comedy.  So it won't make my top ten this year, but it deserves to be enjoyed by a broad audience.

Raw/Grave on the other hand, IS in my top ten.  Top five, actually.  There's a lot of depth and reflection in that cannibalism flick.

A Godard biopic by Michel Hazanavicius? Redoubtable is on my radar.

I'm surprised it wasn't before; it was in competition at Cannes (where it got a mixed reception).

I didn't know what it was about. Much as I don't like Godard, I'm fascinated by how easily he's been able to make his many, many films.

Every review I read of that movie tore it to pieces.
