No, I am back in more civilised lands, where no mortgages are needed to get a bottle of wine and bread is not an exotic luxury.

I love how many of the guys claim ignorance of romantic gestures unless it slaps them in the face.  So true.

The question about best places visited or lived can certainly be two questions.  I was thinking that not everyone would have both, necessarily.

I'm glad that some people feel free to skip questions.

What wonderful pics, jdc!  I'd love to visit there, too!

smirnoff, it is certainly true that computers have changed my life, mostly for the better.  My father was always into new gadgets, so it was inevitable that he was going to get one.  I'm just glad he got a computer before I moved out of the house.

What is the best place you've visited/lived?
b]What is your favorite food or drink?[/b]
Green tea ice cream
&
Port

I am sure you meant those separately, but I can see those two working niftily together, especially i the green tea is Korean.

Working knowledge of 100 different board games of my choosing, a bunch of friends with the same knowledge, and unlimited time to play.

Does the genie find people with those skills or does he imbue existing people who you get along with with the necessary knowledge? Because if it's the second, I'm in.

You macho types need some sensitivity training.

What is the best place you've visited/lived?

Visited: I have done so little traveling that I don't have many to choose from. We went to Belize on our honeymoon and that was great, so I'll say that. Although the truth is we didn't see a whole lot there, we spent the bulk of our time at the resort.

Lived: I love Portland and I don't think I'd want to live anywhere else. Having said that, I get pretty nostalgic for the Chicago neighborhood (Hyde Park) I grew up in. You can't get a decent stuffed pizza in Portland, for one thing. Also, this town is ridiculously, overwhelmingly white.

What is the most romantic thing anyone has done for you? (PG, please!)

My wife gave me this for Valentine's Day a couple years ago:

It's one of my favorite possessions. I framed it and put it on my desk.

What is your favorite food or drink?

Peanut butter, which sucks because now I need to stay away from it if I don't want any more massive kidney stones. Stuffed pizza is a close second.

Robin William's genie appears to give you one wish for your life-- what is it?

To never have to sleep again. Like it could be optional if you feel like it, but I rarely would if I didn't have to. I really hate that a third of my life is wasted doing nothing.

Who has passed away that you miss the most?

My sister Rachel.

Tell us a story of culture shock you've experienced.

Going from the progressive, hugely Democrat, diverse Hyde Park in giant metropolis Chicago... to my first day of college in the redneck, incredibly conservative, one-horse shitheel town of Richmond, Indiana. The college itself (Earlham) is an ultra-liberal enclave, but the surrounding town is godawful. The first words any Richmonder ever said to me were "Earlhamite faggot".

What event most changed your life for the better?

Meeting my current wife. No question.

What event changed your life for the worse?

Meeting my first wife. No question. I was in a very lonely place, feeling that no one would ever love me. I was more than ready to ignore any and all red flags. The next 12 years of my life were pretty terrible (why I didn't end it sooner is a complicated topic), although it did lead to my movie obsession as a means of escape.

I like this answer though I can't get behind the Chicago pizza thing after discovering real pizza

Please answer these questions in a non-movie related manner :)

What is the best place you've visited/lived?
Probably Leavenworth. It was good to see mom one last time before the end.

What is the most romantic thing anyone has done for you?
Someone donated their kidney to me. If that's not romantic, I don't know what is. Plus, it was delicious.

What is your favorite food or drink?
See above.

Robin William's genie appears to give you one wish for your life-- what is it?
I wish for integrated chat to be restored on the Filmspotting forum.

Who has passed away that you miss the most?
Will Gardner of Lockhart & Gardner.

Tell us a story of culture shock you've experienced.
I'm shocked every time I find that I still live in the nineteenth century. In line at the doctor yesterday, the sweet little old white lady behind me was telling her companion about "the other oriental lady" she sees for care.

What event most changed your life for the better?
I suppose I'd have to start at the beginning, when dad's condom broke.

What event changed your life for the worse?
The activation of my emotion chip.

Any statement is invalidated that combines the words Chicago and pizza in the same sentence.
