I have seen 4 of the films and voted for Dawn, the original is a very close second.

I have seen none. Should I marathon them?

I've seen all the five originals, but at least 30 years ago. Calling those memories "foggy" would be an understatement. Never saw the Burton one. Not a big fan of the new ones.

Except for the 2001 film I've seen them all in the last 5 to 7 years... and I would still choose the original 1968.

I chose 1968, Beneath, and Dawn.

I'm the lone vote on Beneath thusfar...really enjoy that crazy movie.

Bumping this up now that everyone's seen the new one. (or at least they're able to)

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
War for the Planet of the Apes
Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Planet of the Apes (1968)
Planet of the Apes (2001)

I realized in the theatre that I could not remember the first two movies of the new trilogy very well. I am uncertain about their ranking

Always the sign of quality filmmaking.
