I am sure oldkid won't mind me piggybacking on his poll series. Which Disney live action musical is best? It's Amy Adams versus Meryl Street hour.

I promise to watch at least the one with the most votes by the end of tomorrow.

Not at all.

I think that Enchanted is the clear winner here, simply because of production and approach, not because of material.  Into the Woods is great on stage, but the movie didn't add much, except Streep.

It must be nice to be able to compare stage and movie versions...

That raises a number of questions:
1) Should I watch both versions or is there no point to that?
2) If not, which one should I watch?
3) Are there other Broadway classics that were similarly put to film?

The versions are pretty similar.  Disney's is cinematic, but I have a warm spot for the filmed stage version.

There are a number of stage musicals put to film.  Pippin, Cats, Sweeny Todd, Les Miz, Sunday in the Park with George, Phantom of the Opera, Joseph and the Amazing...,  Company, Jekyll and Hyde, Kiss Me Kate... and more.

Enchanted has my vote.

I'm with oldkid; love the stage version of Into the Woods, but am so so with the film version.

Haven't seen either. Have been interested in Enchanted, not so much Into the Woods.
