The Ego scenes are definitely the weakest bits of GotG2. I dunno, supervillains in general are pretty boring, right? You've seen one nihilistic megalomaniac, you've seen 'em all. I'm also not a big Kurt Russell guy.
Surely if they put all their pusling brains together the writers of Hollywood can come up with a superhero movie villain that does not want to conquer or destroy the world/universe? Like an eco-terrorist who is trying save the planet but leaves a trail of bodies in his wake ; or a media mogul who manipulates a wealthy nation for his own purposes ; or a politician who sort of has a really good point but takes his "at whatever cost" philosophy a touch too literally ; or a guy who got superpowers somehow and created a cult around himself as a new messiah ; or a guy who does want to destroy the universe, but has a unique, interesting reason for doing so, like Mads could have been, had they just gone 5 bloody minutes into the whole « killing time » thing.
Who's the better character: Kurt Russell in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 or Nick Nolte in Hulk?pixote
