Shock Corridor (Fuller, 1963) - The Chronicle of Anna Magdalena Bach (Straub-Huillet, 1968)
Lola (Demy, 1961) - The Naked Island (Shindo, 1960)
Point Blank (Boorman, 1967) - Mothlight (Brakhage, 1963)
Band of Outsiders (Godard, 1964) - Black Girl (Sembene, 1966)
Splendor in the Grass (Kazan, 1961) - Juliet of the Spirits (Fellini, 1965)
The Great Escape (Sturges, 1963) - Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (Nichols, 1966)
The Taking of Power by Louis XIV (Rossellini, 1966) - Le Bonheur (Varda, 1965)
The Innocents (Clayton, 1961) - America, America (Kazan, 1963)
All easy choices except the last which was a toss-up. I really liked The Great Escape, but it got matched up with the best film of the round.
