Best Horror Film of 1987

What a killer year for horror.
Sure was.

Side question: Who do you choose in the Deathmatch of George Miller's Witches of Eastwick vs. Kathryn Bigelow's Near Dark?

Evil Dead II
Angel Heart

Near Dark
Predator
Fatal Attraction
Opera
The Lost Boys
A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors

Hellraiser
The Witches of Eastwick
Creepshow 2

To be honest, I barely remember Fatal Attraction and I'm not even sure I've seen the whole thing.

I looked up your review of Near Dark, which seemed more positive though you said very little about it.

It's the film that brought Bigelow to my attention, with a number of stylish set-pieces, including a bar scene that for me is the textbook example of mise-en-scène perfection.

I don't remember if I watched Nightmare 3. I did watch most of Prince of Darkness, but not the entire thing, and I don't know if the movie was any good. I do remember it being pretty dashed scary.

I haven't seen either Witches of Eastwick or Near Dark, which I suppose I should remedy.

Out of this list I've seen three, I think:

Evil Dead II 4/5
Nightmare 3  4/5 (I don't remember it very well, but I know I really enjoyed it when I watched it)
Hellraiser 2.5/5
