#222 Kaneto Shindô Ranked List
In 2011, I watched Onibaba, which dances in and out of my Top 100. (I just reposted my review in the Director's thread.) So, Shindô has my respect and admiration. I've since seen Kuroneko, kind of a more mainstream, pulpy variation on Onibaba and the super-minimalist Naked Island.
Those are Shindô's three most famous films by far, but I hope to find at least one new title. Children of Hiroshima is the next most popular title, but I'm more interested in Tree Without Leaves
(1986) and/or Edo Porn
(1981). Reading through his 46 features, there are a number of intriguing titles, but the number of people who have seen these films have me thinking availability will be a major issue.
