#300 Steve James
Ranked ListAmong documentary filmmakers, Steve James doesn't excite me. I find his style very dry, journalistic like a news report, when his subjects are more passionate about what they're doing. It's why I've seen so few.
With DOCember less than a month away, I'm going to set James aside for now, but I've marked
Stevie (2002) and
At the Death House Door (2008) to watch.
#301 René Laloux
Ranked ListThis sure is Random. Laloux has a small filmography. For most it's all about Fantastic Planet, which you either love or you don't. In 200 minutes I could be a Laloux completist, but I'm probably just going to watch
Gandahar (1988)
