The version I watched has the "prolonged scene of unsimulated sex", so I'm guessing I watched the original cut.

1SO vs. All the Directors - Alex Proyas

#314 Alex Proyas Ranked List

After The Crow and Dark City, I was all ready for great things from Proyas. The Crow remains one of the best comic book movies ever made. I don't know what happened. It's years between features and from what I hear, he's increasingly unwatchable.

I'm going to find out for myself by watching Knowing (2009), and if I can find it I'm going back to the beginning to watch Spirits of the Air, Gremlins of the Clouds (1987).

#315 Jerry Lewis Ranked List

On Lewis' thread I moved over my review of The Bellboy. It was unlike what I'd come to expect from Lewis, with a level of invention that matched the reputation of his die hard fans. Too bad Lewis the director always cast Lewis the annoying actor.

His directing output is quite small, 12 features and I've seen half. Landmines like Cinderfella and The Disorderly Orderly were under Frank Tashlin, and I've already passed him. Long story short, the choice is simple. I'll be watching The Errand Boy (1961)

1SO vs. All the Directors - George Miller and Ronald Neame
« Reply #788 on: January 25, 2021, 01:50:28 AM »
#316 George Miller Ranked List

Australia's greatest director - sorry, Peter Weir - even though he made a detour into kids films that was even less successful than Robert Zemeckis' motion capture animation phase. He outright broke my heart with Babe: Pig in the City, one of the worst film experiences of my life. This is why I won't be completing Miller's filmography with Happy Feet Two. The others I've watched fairly recently, so I'm good to move ahead.

#317 Ronald Neame Ranked List

Seems like I'm back in the Taylor Hackford zone, only with a UK passport. Neame is not a name that excites me, but there's Discovery potential here.

DEFINITE:
The Horse's Mouth (1958)
Gambit (1966)

LIKELY:
Tunes of Glory (1960)
I Could Go on Singing (1963)

POSSIBLE:
Man with a Million (1954)
