This is one of the rare Top 5s of the show to make it to the sub-board. If anyone is wondering, his performance in American Made is okay but far from his best. I'd say a lot of the problems come from the writing but something's off with him too.

1. Interview with the Vampire
2. Born on the Fourth of July
3. Tropic Thunder
4. Collateral
5. Eyes Wide Shut

Honorable Mentions: Magnolia, Top Gun, War of the Worlds, Rain Man (I would even argue that his performance here is better than Hoffman's), Mission: Impossible

I'm surprised to see Interview topping a list as well. I wish the film interested me more, then it would be an easy viewing.

Magnolia
Interview With the Vampire
Edge of Tomorrow
Top Gun
Eyes Wide Shut

What these all have in common is that I have watched them more recently than the other ones. I have no idea what Cruise was like in Minority Report or Mission: Impossible.

Sorry.  I'm just not a fan, except for those few performances.

Anyone remember his performance in Risky Business?  It's been so long for me.
