They don't get it: Atomic Blonde. Realistically I get why people aren't all in love with this, it is really just a spy flick that thinks it's smarter than it really is... but it's
a) super fun action all-around
b) Charlize Theron is incredibly magnetic in it
c) it looks great (I mean there's a fight with Stalker in the background, how great it that ?)
d) has a fun soundtrack... that occasionally goes a bit far with the needle-drops, but I don't mind it too much

Right, and there's Valerian too, which I like less than Atomic Blonde but has been very poorly received.

It's not like anyone's hating on Atomic Blonde though, is it? I think of the they don't get it category more as for great movies people are mostly negative about. Same about Baby Driver and Okja: is anyone calling them genius movies?

Valerian really is garbage, however.

I look forward to the next bond film, where he drives a Tesla and plays with fidget spinners.

 ;D

I don't get it

Beauty and the Beast will at worst be the second highest grossing movie of the year worldwide, with over a billion dollars at the box office, while Despicable Me 3 has also crossed that threshold, and will likely be the highest grossing animated movie of the year. The Boss Baby comes next, with less than half the money and Cars 3 is a distant third. I don't know where Coco will end up, but I despair.

There are also critics who believe Golden Circle is better than the original Kingsman and that I can't even.

They don't get it

I don't know. There's no movie I love this year that everyone else hates.

I guess Atomic Blonde is underrated more than "they didn't get it". But the only film I loved that people would call trash is Mother!, and on this forum the reaction was mostly positive (with the few that didn't like it really hating it but still).

I suppose big action films are the ones where I'm most out of step: liked Valerian a lot, didn't care for Logan, Wonder Woman or Ragnarok.

Yeah, your systems are fried.

I do like the first Kingsman better than the second one, so I still have some sanity left.

Alison Willmore had Baby Driver as her "I Don't Get It" because of how the film never lives up to those first two scenes.

Yes, and she's not the only one who said this.  Well, I can't disagree, but it's like she's saying, "First scene's done, fun's over."  There is so much good throughout the film.  Sure, the early montage in Up is the best ever, but there's lots of good in the rest of the movie, too.

I worried this was going to be spent on a new defense for Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, but I've said plenty, ...
Right, and there's Valerian too, which I like less than Atomic Blonde but has been very poorly received.
Valerian really is garbage, however.

Fun fact:
If I filter my TYSF list by IMDb year 2017 and English-language films, Valerian (#30) makes my Top 5.

It'd be #6 for me with that method.

You guys mean by your own ratings, right? The other movies you've watched cannot all be that poorly reviewed.
