I can't tell you how happy I am that not one but two horror films were nominated for BP and director and screenplay, plus one in every acting category. That's huge. Glad to also see women getting acknowledged more in the behind the scenes stuff, directing and writing and cinematography as well. Here's hoping it'll lead to more opportunities in the future.
The Florida Project and Michael Stuhlbarg (CMBYN) and Vicky Krieps are my big misses, but that's a far cry from the usual host of missed greatness from the Oscars.
I will, however, be disappointed when 3 Billboards wins everything. Though McDonnagh missing from the director list is maybe an indication that there is some chance of something else winning.
