It is a sad day when people are not excited by a new PTA movie anymore.

Are you taking into consideration that I hate PTA’s movies?

I make great efforts to always forget there are people who hate PTA.

I didn't even know there was a Denzel movie this year.

I'm convinced Franco got the votes and someone at the Academy was like, "Nah."

When was the last time the Golden Globes winner for Best Actor wasn't nominated for the Oscar?

Yesterday it was Bondo. Today it is my heart you're breaking 'noff. What has happened to you?

I thought there were tons of people raging against 3B?

It's pretty awful, but it'll probably win.

2017 was worse than flat, in my opinion.

Both as it applies to this thread and the clip itself were delightful and I don't even remember why I had cast you out. ;)

The Boss Baby movie is acceptable at best and I cannot imagine Ferdinand is a splendid example of storytelling either. This is a sad year for animated movies. And Your Name. wasn't even nominated? What? Because TBB is better? What about The LEGO Batman?
Screw you, Oscar.

I'm taking this little piece from your awesome post because it's just been bothering me, but:

WHERE CAN I SEE "YOUR NAME"?!?!?

Maybe I'm not internet savvy enough when it comes to accessing what I ought not to access, but I cannot find any means for seeing this film, and it really piqued my interesting when listening to Josh's Top 10 of 2017. Help!

Also, have you seen "The Breadwinner"? "The Secret of Kells" didn't win me over as it did many, but I'm thinking this is worth checking out before the show (if possible).

I got the DVD of Your Name from Netflix. My library also has it if I had wanted to wait.

I'm still optimistic about The Breadwinner even though I didn't like The Secret of Kells or Song of the Sea.

Is Breadwinner going to get a release in time? I missed it when it screened in Philly because I was sick, like I have been all fall and winter.

I can't tell you how happy I am that not one but two horror films were nominated for BP

I mean The Post was only saved from being the worst thing I saw in 2017 by the abysmal Netflixxx original Reality High, but calling it a horror film is a little harsh  :P

Franco not being nominated is dumb. I'd be fine with PT, TSOW, LB, CMBYN, and 3B winning BP, do wish TFP was nominated though. Big fan of On Body And Soul getting a nomination, also liked The Square a ton and want to see Loveless a good deal since I liked Leviathan enough.

Animation is what it is. Think the voting rules for it changed again this year, right? Explains why a lot of the G-Kids stuff didn't garner nominations. Hope Birdboy gets a release soon. Feel like there are other things I wanted to say, but I'll post later.

The Breadwinner has had no kind of release here, but I don't live in America. I don't think I shall be able to see it on the big screen, and almost certainly not in OV. I watched Your Name in the cinema in Europe about a year ago, so you'll probably have to find it online. There are anime specialised streaming websites that might have it, maybe look into that.
