That concludes the déjà vu portion of our countdown. Twenty-four films to go.

I blame mañana's absence for the failure for Haddish's comedic performance to earn a nomination. That and the fact that only seven voters saw Girls Trip.

I still can't believe I was the only one that voted for the grapefruit scene. Although I probably wouldn't have voted for her on my final ballot, she was my #1 for nomination purposes. I'm curious to see the final 5.

(Directed by Anna Biller)

Notable Finishes
#11 for Best Art Direction

I should have started campaigning a few months ago instead of a week ago.

At least you gave me a push to finally watch it (and it was my #1 for Art Direction)

Also, hurrah for Dawson City. Glad I made time to catch up with it before sending in my ballot. And glad to see Driver's work in Paterson not get forgotten

I can finish this up a couple hours from now (or waiting until tomorrow, if that's better for people).

Is it too late to make The Greatest Showman my #1 in all categories? Only sort of joking.

I thought I had narrowly escaped seeing The Disaster Artist.

My first thought was "I guess the #metoo movement hasn't hit Filmspot voters yet." We are less woke than Oscar voters this year, think about that. :o

Franco will square off against Driver for my number one, probably.

Thelma! Anyone who gets a chance to see it is in for a treat, you always know things are going to be fire when a film starts with a seizure warning.

Also surprised about VARDA!!! not getting a nomination, does she not have the Wiseman power? Seemed everyone loved F,P and I'd have to check it out rather than just punting the docucat as per usual.

What the CINECAST! is Tickled?

That The Beguiled screenshot is perfect, #TeamElle is disappointed in even me for not pushing it harder.

With the Best Lines, Scenes and Shots in particular I keep getting surprised by what didn't make the cut.

I saw the nomination and was glad to see we can separate the art from the artist.

Clearly you haven't seen A Field in England.

Baahubali was filmed in Telugu and Tamil, so I think the Hindi and Malayalam versions are dubs.

also important, do we need to see the quel to get it?

Well, of the nominees announced so far I do think I'll be able to see them all (or have access to all of them, finding the time is always a different questions). Priority is Molly's Game since it is down to one second-run screen in town and won't get DVD/stream release in time.
